ARRAK x MIURIO collaboration
This summer MIURIO design studio is starting an ambitious collaboration with one of most famous Estonian painters, Jüri Arrak. This is a true honour to work side by side with such a talented and productive artist with a huge artistic and life experience.
We strive at introducing different scale exciting art and fashion brands to our local and international clients via our showroom and online store. This is our way of bringing together art and design, and also support upcoming designers by building network of business relations and friendships across the industry.
Jüri Arrak
Jüri Arrak (born 24 October 1936) is an Estonian artist, a painter whose works with distinguished and recognizable style have won acclaim around the world.
Arrak was born in Tallinn, and graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute. He is a member of the Estonian Artist’s Association and a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Arrak’s works are represented in Estonian Museum of Art, Tallinn, Estonia; Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA; New Orleans Museum of Art, USA; Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia and Ludwig Art Museum, Cologne, Germany.

BIOGRAPHY IN NUMBERS
Born on 24 october 1936 in Tallinn
1944 – 1951 – studied at different schools around the country because of difficult after-war situation.
1951 – 1955 – Student of Tallinn Mining School.
1955 – 1958 – Served in Soviet army. Truck driver in Leningrad.
1958 – 1960 – Lived and worked in Leningrad as a draughtsman and taxidriver.
1961 – 1966 – studied at the Estonian State Art Instiute at Metalwork department.
1967 – 1968 – worked as an artist in the Tallinn Metal Product Factory.
since 1969 – member of the Estonian Artist`s Association, since then a freelance artist.
1971 – 1973 – chairman of the graphics section of the Estonian Artist`s Association
1982 – 1987 – chairman of the painting section of the Estonian Artist`s Association
since 1992 – member of the Estonian Painters`s Association.
1996 – 1997 – visiting Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Tartu
since 2003 – member of the European Academy of Sciences & Arts
Arrak has organized over 90 personal exhibitions in various countries, incl. USA, Canada, England, Germany, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania.
