20th century’s Estonian Art Classics Transformed into Interior Design: Handcrafted Rugs and Art Wallpapers based on artwork of Malle Leis and Jüri Arrak
On April 3, 2025, an inspiring client event took place at the Muster interior design showroom (Pärnu mnt 139A, Tallinn), where handcrafted rugs and art wallpapers inspired by the works of renowned Estonian artists Malle Leis (1940-2017) and Jüri Arrak (1936-2022) were unveiled. The event brought together interior design enthusiasts and art lovers, offering a rare opportunity to experience Estonian fine art in a new and spatially creative form.
The event featured a special guest, art historian Aleksander Metsamärt, who provided insights into the backgrounds of the artists and the deeper meanings behind their works. Rita Assor, head designer of MIURIO studio, shared behind-the-scenes stories from the design and production process, revealing how classical artworks are transformed into modern interior textiles.
Guests were treated to refreshments, a MIURIO product giveaway, and an inspiring atmosphere where art and design came together in harmony.
